Geometry in Olympiads

Dive into visual problem-solving and classic Olympiad-style geometry.

Who this course is for

Course overview

Join us for a unique summer experience focused entirely on Geometry — one of the oldest and most beautiful branches of mathematics. In this online camp, we’ll dive into classic Olympiad-style problems that go far beyond triangles and circles.

Each day is structured into two parts:

  • 10:00–11:00: Core Geometry – learning problem-solving techniques used in real maths competitions
  • 11:30–12:30: Advanced Challenges – exploring powerful ideas like symmetry, angle chasing, and transformations

This camp is perfect for students aged 11–14 who enjoy thinking visually and logically. All sessions are live, online, and capped at 6 students to ensure a personal and engaging experience.

💡 Did you know? Geometry was the only subject taught at Plato’s Academy in Ancient Greece — the entrance read: “Let no one ignorant of geometry enter here.” It was seen as the foundation of all rational thinking!

Data Science

Understand how machines make sense of messy data!
We’ll introduce ideas like patterns, probability, and decision trees, and show how they help machines make predictions — all through maths puzzles and friendly activities.

University Udesly
Python

We’ll use Python to teach your computer how to draw geometric shapes, follow logic, and even make artistic fractals.
Perfect for students who enjoy structure, creativity, and want to learn how algorithms work under the hood.

Chrome Extension
Statistics

Learn how we collect, organise, and interpret data to understand the world. We'll explore averages, variation, and trends - and connect these ideas to real-life questions like “How do we train a machine to recognise patterns?”

Olympiad Problems

Build strong problem-solving habits using classic Olympiad-style questions.
These are not about tricks - they’re about learning to think clearly and solve unfamiliar problems with confidence and creativity.

Tutor

George Ionitsa

Data Scientist and Olympiad Teacher

Olympiad Mathematics has shaped my life from the start: I was admitted to the Faculty of Mathematics at Moscow State University without sitting a single entrance exam, thanks to top finishes in competitions such as the Russian Sharygin Geometry Olympiad, the Moscow Mathematical Olympiad and the All-Siberian Open School Olympiad. After seven years teaching Olympiad Maths and Programming - both independently and at various London Schools of Mathematics & Programming - I’ve guided students to everything from Gold in the Primary Maths Challenge to the highest STEP scores and admission to their dream universities.

Alongside teaching, I have worked professionally as a Data Scientist and Quantitative Developer, building models that power real-world decisions in finance and tech. That industry experience lets me weave practical examples into every lesson, showing how the abstract beauty of mathematics and the logic of code drive algorithms, trading systems and everyday apps. My goal is to inspire students not just to solve problems on paper, but to see how those ideas come alive beyond the classroom.

Where do you hold your classes?
We hold our classes online or on-site on Saturdays at our branch in Pimlico Academy, London.
You can find our timetable here.
What do you need to start learning online?
For lessons you only need a computer or phone with a microphone, camera and Internet access. Wherever you are - in London, Nottingham, New York or Bali - online lessons will be at hand.
When can I take the trial lesson?
You can get acquainted with the school at any time convenient for you. To do this, just leave a request and sign up for a lesson.
What should I expect from the trial lesson?
The trial lesson is a 30-minute online session designed to get a sense of how your child approaches mathematical thinking and problem solving. (In practice, it often runs a bit longer if the student is engaged!)

We typically explore a range of fun and challenging problems drawn from competitions. We adapt the difficulty based on how the student responds, aiming to make it both accessible and stimulating.

After the session, we’ll have a quick conversation with the parent to share observations and suggest a personalised path forward.
I can't attend class, what should I do?
It is OK, it happens! Students have the opportunity to cancel a lesson up to 8 hours before the scheduled time without loss of payment. So you can reschedule it for a convenient time, and the teacher will have the opportunity to
I don't have much free time, will I have time to study?
Learning can take place at your own pace. We will select a convenient schedule and at any time we will help you change the schedule, take a break or adjust the program.
How long is one lesson?
All classes last 1 hour.
